Random Saturday Morning Pictures

Is this my life?

I'm sitting here in confusion, but I must write this down. I'm not sure if this is really my life or if I've replaced lives with my perfect one that lives in my dreams.

Demon #2 comes home from school and I ask how her day went.

"Good, what are we having for supper?" Typical question from this kid, honestly.

"I don't know, I have to go to the store but I can't get out of the driveway because you guys didn't shovel the very end."

"I'll do it when I'm done" (by now she was in the bathroom)

She gets out of the bathroom, proceeds to tell Demon #1, who has gotten home by then, that they have to go shovel the rest of the driveway. Demon #1 protests. Demon #2 says "I'll do it myself".

She goes out and shovels. She leaves about 5 minutes worth of shoveling for Demon #1 and comes in. Demon #1 goes out (because I made her.... thats not the perfect dream, though... come on, no dream is perfect).

I ask Demon #2 if she wants to go with me to the store. "Sure". She never wants to go with me. We go to the store. I have to buy a scrub brush and she sees a toilet brush. She wants to buy one. Just happens I broke ours today cleaning the shower (don't ask). "I'll clean the toilet if you let me get it".

Huh?

So we buy it. We also buy enough other crap to fill 4 grocery bags.

We get home and she takes the 12 pack of pop and both gallons of milk out of the car. I bring in 2 grocery bags. I go back out into the garage and she's struggling with her load, so I grab the gallon of milk from her and set it on the steps. She puts the pop in the garage fridge. I go to the car and grab the other 2 bags. She walks up behind me, grabs both bags from me and heads towards the steps... grabs the gallon of milk on her way in. Yes, she had the 1st gallon of milk still in her hands, plus the 2 grocery bags.

I'm scared at this point. We are talking adrenaline rush.

She helps me put the groceries away, grabs the toilet brush and says "ok how do I use this thing?". She goes in the bathroom and proceeds to clean the toilet.

Then says; "this is fun!".

I don't think this is my life.... but I like this one. Don't give me my old one back.

And please tell me blogging this didn't jinx me.

Dryer sheets, Octomom, roses, puppies, oh my!

My week is all screwed up now. It's Thursday, right? I don't know anymore because I woke up with the husband still in bed and he just left 5 minutes ago ... it's 6:40 now. If he was going to work, he's out the door way before this. He's not going to work today... or tomorrow.... he's on the road headed northeast to go join up with a bunch of his snowmobiling buddies to spend a 4 day weekend talking smart, drinking and maybe snowmobiling. Sucky thing is, we are in a winter storm warning today and he's driving with it. And I have to shovel the driveway myself.

Anyway, since it's Thursday, it's time for my Thursday Thunk answers. I sure wish Kimber would hurry up and get back online because she's long overdue for her turn. I'm sick of coming up with questions.... I'm running out of ideas. Next week it's going to end up being dumb questions like "whats your favorite color", which is actually one of the hardest questions I have ever had to answer. I don't have a favorite, I like all colors - except white. Especially on walls. Gotta have bright, make your eyes bleed colors on my walls. It makes me happy.

1. What kind of dryer sheets do you use?
I'm addicted to dryer sheets. I have Bounce, Snuggle and some generic brand. I use whatever I feel like smelling that day.

2. How many times a week do you eat out/order in?
About once a week on average. Either pizza or Subway or something along those lines.

3. What did you do the night of your high school graduation?
Went to my best friends' graduation party, which was a bust. She was pissed from the moment it was planned. She didn't want the party that night and she spent most of the night pissed off & crying because of it. A few of us stuck around because it was her party... I wasn't going to leave her there by herself.

4. So Octomom is rumored to have been offered a million bucks to do a porno. Would you do it for a million?
I wouldn't, but I wanna know who in God's green earth wants to see this woman in a porno anyway? She just had 8 babies in her belly - it's just can't be sexy.

5. If your child was born with an extra finger or toe, would you have it surgically removed?
It would depend where it was. If it wasn't "obvious" then maybe not. I'm not one for unnecessary anything.

6. What was the last movie you saw?
Changeling with Angelina Jolie. Holy crapola that was a good movie! I had NO IDEA of the storyline before I saw it.... I just knew it was about her kid being kidnapped and the cops trying to pass off another kid as hers. No idea it was a true story, much less about a serial killer, which is another one of my obsession.

7. I wanna buy you a dozen roses, what color should they be?
I don't want a dozen roses, I want rose bushes. Pink or white or yellow... doesn't matter. Red is overdone.

8. You are walking across the street, you are not quite half way when a speeding car comes... you have to run to get out of its way, which direction do you run?
I'd be a dumbass and run forward and probably get killed.

9. Tell us about a time when you were invited over somewhere and had the most awful time.
It was probably that graduation party... but just because it sucked watching her so miserable.

10. You open your front door and there is a box with a puppy in it... what do you do?

I pick it up and hug it and squeeze it and name him George. And then I keep him. Because the best pets are the ones who find you.

I think my goal for today is to make a new signature tag. I'm getting bored with the current one. Maybe I'll do that. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

I have stood behind my Mel on everything stupid he's ever done. I mean, a woman has to stand behind her man.

Don't get my wrong, my love for him still runs deep, but he's really disappointing me on his facial hair decisions. This is one man who looks best clean shaven and you all know me and facial hair - I love it! But Mel Gibson looks best without it.

And even better without this crap.

What's one of the simple pleasures in your life?
This question can have so many answers. I'll have to say, though, that it's probably being out at the lake watching the demons fishing on the dock. It's quiet, peaceful and fun.
What do you like to snack on when you watch a movie?
A bowl of ice cream, but thats not something that a person can "snack" on. If you don't eat the stuff, it melts.
If you were a Survivor contestant, what would be your luxury item?
Does where I'm going have wireless? LOL I really don't know... maybe pictures of my kids? Can Saki be a luxury item? Hard question... I really don't have an answer that wouldn't be food or beverage related.

1. Where would you go if you wanted to spark your creativity?
My kitchen table.... or the lake.
2. What would be one thing that would embarrass you a great deal?
I don't really know, I don't embarrass easily. I suppose falling on my ass in a large crowd or something. Which is funny, because even when I fall on my ass when nobody is around I still feel like a complete idiot.
3. What values did your parents instill in you?
There's nothing you can't do, some things just take a little longer - although I need to listen to that more often (and I keep throwing it back in my daddy's face!). And doing house things yourself... I never saw my dad call someone like a plumber or someone to fix something. He always did it himself. Up until a few years ago, that is.
4. What’s a fad of your teen years that you remember well?
Big hair. Has to be the big hair. The worship of Aqua Net and all that it did. My "own fad" was Harley shirts & leopard print pants, though. Nobody else really wore them, but I did. I guess maybe thats why I never made it into the "popular crowd".
Oh... and pinning your jeans. I still have scars on my legs from jabbing the pins into my flesh, because it had to be tight, ya know.
5. What is your favorite breakfast?
Coffee & peanut butter cups. Or strawberry PopTarts.
6. What is the best birthday gift that you have received?
a leather trench coat that the husband bought me years and years ago when we had no money, but I needed a coat.
7. What gadget could you not live without?
My computer. Thats a gadget, right?
8. Do you collect anything?
Too much junk, thats what I collect. But mainly, Big Sky Bear Bearfoots by Jeff Fleming.

Amber @ Mommy Mania felt a strange need to give me this amazing award. I feel very honored, and special, and all warm and gooey inside, just like chocolate chip cookies. Thanks Amber!

1) Admit that ONE thing you feel awful about involving being a mom. Get it off your shoulders. Once you've written it down, you are NO LONGER allowed to feel bad. It's over with, it's in the past. Remember, you're a good mom!

- Sorry, but it's not in the past. It's current and I don't know how long it will be current. The worst thing is my social phobia, which stops us from doing a lot of things that the demons would like to do... like going to the mall.

2)To remind yourself that you ARE a good mom, list SEVEN things you love about your kids, you love doing with your kids, or that your kids love about you. These are the things to remind yourself of EVERY DAY that you rock!

- I love how artistic Demon #2 is. She is amazing with a pencil & sketchbook.

- I love how Demon #1 is so much like me with her random outbursts of sillyness. She can jump into a room and announce that she's there better than I ever could. The other day she runs in and says "Who invented marshmallows?".. just to say something silly.

- I love Demon #2's hugs.

- I love how both demons still want me to tuck them in at night... and as much as I hate it, I love the 10 "Mom wait!"'s that I hear every night.

- I love that Demon #1 has such a wide variety of music tastes. She loves Poison, Johnny Cash & ACDC.

- I love how they think I'm the only one who can make a bologna sandwhich, eggs and my macaroni salad. They say anyone else's doesn't taste right.

- I love how both of them think alcohol is the dumbest thing ever. They think getting drunk is silly. I can only hope that train of thought stays another 10 years....

- I love that I haven't killed them both yet.

Jason's grandparents were married like 60some years, but they don't count because Grandpa is gone. My dad & stepmom have been married 28 years so I'm going with that.

I'm addicting to talking to snowmobile-addicted people. Why?

I'm addicted to buying dog toys for Saki. I.just.can't.stop.

I'm addicted to flowers and bears and strawberries. If something has them on it, I have a hard time not possessing it.

I'm addicted to saying very random things... like addictions.

I'm addicted to taking pictures of everything and anything.

10 random things about me:
-I have a dog who wears a diaper because he pisses in the house at any chance he gets.
-You can pretty much set your watch to my daily activities.
-I won't drink out of a coffee cup that doesn't have some sort of design on it.
-I have a weakness for male country singers.
-I have a fight with the husband twice a year - in the fall when I want to put the flannel sheets on the bed and in the spring when he wants them off.
-I like pickled fish.
-I have ruined tons of black t-shirts by cleaning with bleach when I have them on.
-I can't take any medications because I am so sensitive to them.
-There will always be music on somewhere around me.
-I don't like eating at restaurants that I haven't eaten at before.

7. Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning? Demon #2. She had to take a shower.

9. Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane? Washington I think. Maybe it was home to Minnesota. I honestly don't remember my first plane ride.
10. Who was your FIRST best friend & do you still talk? Krista. And occasionally I do... more so now because of the internet.

18. First foreign country you've been to? Canada... is that foreign? It's the only one I've been to. But only about 100 feet in.... my dad got pissed off because they tore our van apart so we turned around and came back to our own country.

Sunday Stealing: The Q & A Meme

1. where is your significant other? As in right this moment? He's upstairs on his computer.

2. your favorite thing? this is quite the question... I have many favorite things, but which is the right answer? The most logical would be the demons, but most days they aren't my favorite things because... well... they are teenagers. I could say all my critters and that would probably most logical, but there again... are they a 'thing'? Peanut Butter Cups are my favorite candy... I have a certain chair that is my favorite... I have a pillow that is my favorite... I think you need to be just a tad more specific on this one.

3. your dream last night? I was shopping at Hot Topic for clothes for myself, which I wouldn't wear now being an old lady, but when I took the demons in there last week it was like walking back into time - those were the clothes that I wore as a teenager!

4. your goal? There you go again with a question that is so open ended. My goal for today is to get laundry done and not eat the entire box of doughnuts that I bought yesterday. Oh... and I'd like to wear a bikini this summer without everyone laughing at me.

5. your hobby? typing on this keyboard.

6. where do you want to be in 6 years? Still alive, for one. Lets see, in 6 years I will no longer have kids in school (hopefully college though) so in 6 years I want to be able to get up with the husband and get in the semi with him without worrying about who is going to get the demons up for school.

7. where were you last night? In my living room watching a movie with the husband and demons. Then I went to bed. Exciting, huh? (well.. the bed part was a little exciting....)

8. what you're not? WTF? What I'm not? I'm not a boy. I'm not single. I'm not a rap music lover. I'm not a teenager. I'm not a beer drinker. I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree. 9. one of your wish list items? a Canon EF 800mm f/5.6L IS USM Super Telephoto Lens. This baby is just over $10grand. But I just about orgasm every time in see one. I just wanna touch one.... just take one picture with it.

10. your pet? We talking my critters here? Saki, Chico, Big Boy, Oliver, Serena Rosabella, Jake and a bunch of fish.

12. your car? 1996 Mercury Sable and I LIKE IT DAMMIT!!! I wish people would stop telling me to junk it. It's not dead yet!

A decent picture of me! Holy stinky toilet stuff!

There are very few pictures of me to begin with, but for me to actually LIKE a picture of me is another thing! I actually like this one. I look fricken bored to tears, but very few of my wrinkles are showing... LOL

And I'm not tooth-smiling, which I hate to do. I hate showing my teeth, but people always seem to think that a picture isn't a picture without teeth. I don't like my teeth, why would you?

I'm actually excited about this picture.... does that make me vain?
