The sounds of sandblasting

Thats what I hear. Actually it just sounds like air, but I know what he's doing so I can identify the sound. He's out there again. In the garage. With them. Them being snowmobiles. Yes, thats plural. How many? I lost count... 15? 20? I don't know. There isn't even the smell of snow in the air yet and I have lost him to the world of white. It's ridiculous actually.

He's building a racer this time. Some green thing. It's a Kawasaki, that much I'm sure of. Thats all he has. Kawasaki Interceptor, Kawasaki Intruder, Kawasaki Invader. They all look the same, sound the same, but from what I've been told, they aren't the same. I pretend to pay attention with interest when he tells me about it, but I just can't get past the cylinders or belly pans. Once he starts talking parts I just smile, nod and say "thats nice, honey". It keeps him happy thinking I maybe understand a little bit of what he's yapping about. I don't, but it doesn't matter.

By the way... Interceptors are black. Different from the rest. But he's buying me one and I'm going to paint it pink. And I'm going to name is 'Ceptorlicious. All those Interceptor fans are going to be pissed.

This is an Interceptor. They look really good with puppies on them! (Thats my Chico!)

Need Thanksgiving T-shirts?

"I'm thankful that my children haven't sent me to a sanitarium yet" and "I'm thankful for this t-shirt".

Getting into the Thanksgiving spirit....

Put out the cigarettes

Today Minnesota starts the statewide smoking ban. Yippee. That is sarcasm, by the way. I don't like smoking bans. True, I'm a smoker, but I am a smoker who can handle not smoking if I can't, thats not the issue. I don't eat out much and I don't go to bars, so this isn't effecting me at all. What I don't like is the fact that this happened. When did we become a country where the government can force every business owner in the state to NOT do something that is legal. If smoking was illegal it would be a whole different story, but it's legal to smoke a cigarette. Why not just leave it up to each individual business owner? Non-smokers - and smokers who choose - would find those establishments and go there. Advertise yourself as being a non-smoking establishment. They will come.
I noticed last week that our local bowling alley is now advertising being non-smoking. I'm sure the non-smokers love seeing that in the ad - but it's wasted space, isn't it? It's a law now, dummy. Use that space to advertise 1/2 off bowling or something.
It's just a rights thing - I don't like rights taken away. I hate bannings. Ban this, ban that. It's not really American in my book. I find it funny that they will ban cigarettes, something legal, but they are still trying to figure out a way for illegal immigrants to stay in the country. Sort of backasswards, isn't it?
I guess I just wonder what is next. No cell phones in shopping malls? Sounds silly, doesn't it? Well, they irritate me. I can't stand it when someone, who is obviously by themselves, is standing next to me and suddenly starts talking. You would assume they were talking to me, but noooo, they are talking to an invisible person that only they can see. Irritating.
Ok, bring up the health issue. Well, it could be unhealthy. That person is driving me mentally insane and that is now considered a health issue. Or... the people who are so into their phone call that they don't watch where they are going - health issue to me if they run into me and I break a leg or something. It's a danger to me. So ban them.
I can't stand drunk people either and that is why I don't go to bars. Maybe they should ban alcohol so I can start going into bars again. Health issue? Of course it is! Don't make me explain that one....
I'm now going to go out into my garage to have a cigarette. At least I can do that until they tell me there's no smoking allowed in my own garage.

Cough, sniffle, pass the Kleenex.

Today marks the 8th day of this damn cold that I have. I'm sick of it. Last night I woke up so many times with a coughing fit and that's the first time I've actually had coughing fits this week. Otherwise it's just a stuffy head/nose and just plain feeling like crap.
A bunch of women & I were supposed to go to the Renaissance Festival today but I'm not going because of this and I don't think anyone else is going because it's supposed to rain all day. But still, it sucks. I said already on Friday that if this wasn't gone I wasn't going. Then Friday my ear started hurting! Ack. I hate it.
Luckily I seem to be the only one sick in the family. I added Vit. C pills to the girls' pill containers last weekend so they've been taking that all week with their other pills. Maybe that's helping them not get this, I don't know.

Some past favorites

Some favorite pictures from years ago..

My Max. Four years ago this November I had to put him to sleep. We went through a lot together... many memories and if that fur could talk! Many tears went into that fur over the years.

And my munchkins... when they were still innocent! :-) This has always been a favorite picture of mine.

Comments

Someone post a comment... it's like... nobody's reading. But I know you are - I can see you!
I love pictures. I love random pictures. I'll take pictures of just about anything that will stand still long enough to take a picture of.

The first one is Demon #2, my youngest. In some future post you'll see why that is so comical. You'll have to stick around to see what I mean. She shouldn't be drinking what she's drinking, so the look of being caught is priceless!
The other? That's my Jakey. He's a mama's boy. Really, he is. Although whats strange is we don't know if he's a he or not. See, a vet has to sex a snake and in the 13 years we've had him we've never bothered to get him sexed. If a vet doesn't know what they are doing it can be fatal. We don't want that. We love our Jake. Boy or girl.

And you know this isn't the end of today... I still have a lot of rambling to do, I just have too much to do this morning to continue for now.

Priceless

OJ fan or not, this is priceless.

CSI Tonight!

I've been waiting months for this!

Fundraisers

I HATE fund raisers. I don't want any freaky PTA member coming and slamming me on this, but take it from a Mom who is sick of them. Every September it's the same thing.. a few weeks into school and we are blasted with the famous catalog fund raiser filled with overpriced products that nobody really wants anyway. But to make our kids happy, we let them irritate friends and family with begging of buying these overpriced products that nobody really wants anyway. To get what? A cheesy little prize that I could get them at the dollar store. Gads. When Demon Spawn #1 & 2 were in Elementary school together I begged and pleaded with them to combine their fund raisers. I only won once. One year I threw the whole thing away and gave the PTA a twenty dollar bill.
Now I have the privilege of having one Demon in 6th grade, one in 7th. Different schools. I was happy last year that it was the last year of fund raising for Demon #1! Wrong. Stupid mom. This year we were happily given 3 fund raisers - by 3 different organizations - all within a week of each other. The dreaded catalog one for Elem. for Demon #2, selling magazine subscriptions for band (Demon #1 is in band) and the 3rd? Demon #1 is in Confirmation this year, so the church is doing their annual Pizza fund raiser. Great. Now we get to blast friends & family with not only the overpriced products that nobody really wants anyway, but add to it pizza and magazines. And you can't just buy from one, you know. Thats unfair.
Can't organizations pick a different time of year to do this stuff other than the same time everyone else is? It doesn't help that we've just spent hundreds of dollars getting the kids ready for school to begin with - clothes, supplies, money in their lunch accounts. Now we have to buy overpriced products that nobody really wants anyway. And try not to forget that the holiday giving season is right around the corner.

One of my biggest pet peeves

One thing you will read a lot about on here is my stand on BSL (Breed Specific Legislation). Now some people will argue that it's not real, that the government is not trying to pass a law banning breeds. Well, that may be so at the highest levels, but more and more communities are doing this and it's just downright ignorant.
A friend of mine posted a story last week at the forums. One of the quotes in the story was "If anybody out there -- a gang-banger, a drug dealer -- if they want to sic a dog on us, we'll kill them. I mean, boom. We don't sit around and ask questions." Read that closely. Read it again. Do you see what it says? It should be a truthful statement, but it's not. If anybody.... they want to sic a dog... we'll kill them. Get it? Thats the way it should be - go after the OWNERS of the dogs.
Now, mind you, I'm not a fan of Pit Bulls, but it's not because of the bad rap they've gotten. I just don't find them attractive. Although I have seen some that would melt anyones heart! Remember years ago when the Doberman was the breed that everyone hated? What happened there? Now they are lovable family dogs. Go figure.
I personally am more leery of small dogs than I am large ones. They are intimidated by people and have to protect themselves. But you know you never hear of that poodle mauling in the news...
So yep. You'll hear about me bitching from time to time about this subject. I even have a section in my store just for pets and a lot of it is directly about this subject!

It's a Thursday morning

I'm still fighting to get over this cold. Someone pass me some good unstuffy meds. NyQuil knocked me out like a light last night, but it didn't cure my cold. I'm sick of being sick!

Saw this picture on Yahoo when I woke up.
Kind of a freakish looking thing, isn't it?

Nothing like making your mind work overtime so early in the morning.
