Camera Critters - #2 - A walk in the park

I'm getting all my weekend photo projects out of the way all at once! Ok, well in 3 different posts... so anyone who wants to see more "park pictures" continue on to the other 2 entries from today!

These pictures I picked out just for Camera Critters. I couldn't decide which one was cuter - them coming or them going. So I'm giving you both!

The girls, the dogs & I headed to the park today. It's a little piece of heaven just on the outside of town... at least I've always thought so. I came here as a child and it just seems right that I bring my own children. It helps that we live just a few blocks away from it, too. :)
It is a "regular kids park", too. If you look off in the distance you might be able to see the playground equipment.
This is the first time I've came here with a mission - pictures. The girls really didn't know that was the mission.. I mean, Mom always has her camera, so they get used to it after awhile.

And the dogs? Well, considering Saki is just about 6 months old and a retriever, she's really into the exploring & discovery of all this new stuff... grass! Sticks! Hey, where'd the snow go? She's in her own heaven.
And Chico? Well, he doesn't get off the leash much (he listens as well as the trees in the pictures), so he was having the time of his life!
This is also my first entry in Weekend Snapshot!

Photo Friday (my 1st one!) - Cold

I found another one... Photo Friday. Like I needed another one, huh?

This one took awhile for me to find something. The challenge this week is cold. Since we are now getting into the 60s everyday and all of our snow from last week's 12+ inches snowstorm is a memory, I'd have a hard time finding something cold. So I went back into time... before I had a decent camera, so forgive the quality of the picture. Demon #2 is about 6 years old here (she's 11 now) and this is at the lake near our house. She's always hated the cold and this day was no exception. And it doesn't help that she took after me when it comes to things on her feet. Ice skates, rollerblades... doesn't matter. Our feet were meant to be flat on the ground. So she did a lot of standing around on the ice that day... in fear that she would (more than likely) fall.

And you know what? Now all of a sudden I just thought of two different ideas for cold. I just might have to come back and edited this...

... no, I gotta wait 10 minutes until I can get the demons out of bed anyway, so I'll go do it now.

Ok the one didn't turn out as I'd wanted it to... I tried to take a picture of a bag of old pancakes in the freezer that had ice crystals in it. Couldn't get it to turn out right... so I left it. True, nobody is going to eat them because they are old, but they fill that little space in the freezer so I leave it. Plus it was like 7 feet to walk to the garbage can and thats... you know, too far.

I can use that excuse, my kids do!

Feel free to grab that idea and then let me know if you posted a pic of it! I'd love to see it.

Here is the other idea I had... a cold cat. I shaved Big Boy the other day because he gets to the point that his fur is so thick that I just shave it. Plus it helps with my itchy eyes! LOL I shave one of the other cats, too, but thats because he hates to be brushed. Big Boy loves it, but it's hard to keep up with his coat. So the first couple days after I shave him - he's cold. Not freezing, just cold. Or maybe he's just mad at me, who knows.

Project Looking Through - Take 2 - Girls

My 2nd installment of PLT. Took these last night at the same time I took yesterday's installment.

Looking through the window at the girls on the trampoline. Not sure what Demon #1 was screaming at here, as they never saw me taking the picture.
This is a shot that I don't get often... the demons getting along and looking like angels.
and, of course, the dog. Saki wanted to know what was so interesting out the window... so here is Saki looking through a window!

Project Looking Through - Mom

A new project started up over at a blog I just recently discovered thanks to Karen!. It's called Project Looking Through (PLT). It took me all day to figure out something to do... but I did and I'm pretty proud if I can say so myself!

This is really the only picture I have of my mom, a decent pic anyway. I wrote about her & pictures awhile back. It's in my bookshelf, which is enclosed in glass - so I have to look through the glass to see the picture.

Also included in this picture is the stuffed kitty that I got from my brother when I was 16, which I refer to as my "Bunkie kitty".

The tiger baby is in memory of my best friends baby that passed away at the age of 9 days - her name was Katarina, which I called her KittyKat.. being the cat freak that I am. How dare my best friend name her daughter something with "Kat" in it and not expect me to get KittyKat from that! :)

There is also a knick-knack of a dalmatian & another one that is a golden retriever - for my dalmatian, Smokey, that I had when I was little and the golden... my Max, which I've talked about here, also.

Say wha? Colors

Have you ever wondered if everyone sees colors the same way? Do you see red as I see red? Do you see yellow as I do? Is my red your yellow? Or is your yellow my green?

Is there really a way to be sure? If we've spent our lives seeing red as what we believe to be red, then how can we know the difference?

Just something to think about...

Parenting on the brain

I have so many new readers that I feel I need to explain why occasionally I put these random graphic things up! I am a work-at-home-mom, with my own business. I own/run two different online stores that sell t-shirts & other gifts. I create all of the images on the products.
So along with photos and general ramblings, I will sometimes throw in what I've been working on for my stores.

The website addresses are - InsanityWear & SledderWear (a store that has exclusive snowmobile designs). I do requests & personalizations, too, so if you are ever in the need for a unique gift for someone... you know where to find me!

Also got a "Mom's Sidekick" one :)

Wordless Wednesday

Wordless... kinda

Need more to do!!!!!

Does anyone participate or know of any fun blog memes - I still am freaked out by that word - or whatever you want to call them?

I've joined the Manic Monday one, then I've got PhotoHunters on Saturday and two (Camera Critters & Weekly Winners) on Sunday. I would like at least two between Monday and Saturday.

Open for suggestions....

Manic Monday - another first! *BUD*

Shhh... don't look at the calendar... for a moment let's pretend it's still yesterday.

I've been seeing the Manic Monday meme all over the place for the last few weeks, but never actually clicked on a link to take myself there. Probably because I knew what would happen.
I'd do it.
The rules are fairly simple:
Visit It's A Blog Eat Blog World any time after 4pm EST on Fridays to discover Monday's theme word. This will be a word with multiple definitions.

Use one of the definitions to inspire your Manic Monday Post = perhaps a photograph, a story, a joke, or a stream of consciousness paragraph inspired by the word. Be creative, and have fun with it.
This week the word is "Bud". I thought ok, I'll have to do this next week, it will be kinda fun. Then laying in bed last night I thought about it... I already did Bud and I did it on Monday!
Yesterday, my Camera Critters choice was a picture of Demon #1 and Oliver.... who she calls Buddy! I already had my bud and didn't even know it.
I should have went with the other things I was thinking of, too. Bud, as in best bud, which is my bestest friend in the whole world, Missy. Or my best never-met-in-person bud, Kimberella. I guess Oliver is one of Taryn's buds, since she calls him Buddy.

I think the world needs more buds.
