Toys, money, fridges, adresses & ceilings

Click the toilet paper to play with us!

What was your favorite toy as a child?
I'll have to say My Little Pony. I got my first one in 3rd grade and it evolved from there... I collected them through high school. I still have most of them yet, but I did sell one on Ebay a couple years ago for 80 bucks. If money was no object, but you could only buy ONE thing, what would you buy your spouse/significant other? A piece of land with a huge shed on it.

What about your children? Krissy wouldn't forgive me if I wouldn't buy her an XBox 360, which I could buy now but I won't. I suppose I'd buy her every video game system imaginable with every Sonic game ever made.
Taryn? A room size aquarium.

Now, if you only had $10 to buy one thing, what would it be? 10 peanut butter cups.

What's on your refrigerator? tons of magnets. A school calendar, some notes from church, a phone list, some photo Christmas cards and a picture of a bear that Krissy drew.

What's on top of it? phone books, a Mickey Mouse cookie jar, a cribbage board, my mom's silver set and a box of scalloped potatos that Krissy is supposed to bring to church for the food shelf.

Go look in it. Whats in there that would gross the rest of us out? Yesterday I could have listed a few things, but the husband cleaned it out last night.

Whats your favorite type of potato? Mashed w/ a puddle of butter in the middle.

Do you have an address book? Do you write in it or do you just stick return addresses/envelopes in it? I do both. I write in the ones I know and then get lazy and it's now filled with about 20 envelopes.

Look up. Do you like your ceiling? It's dirty, but for a ceiling it's ok. And there's a fly on it. I wish I could walk upside down like a fly and not have all the blood rush to my head.

    Redoing rooms & lost treasures.

My project this week is the computer room. Yes, I took before pics but I'm not posting them yet.

We moved into this house in 1999. A short little man (he really was short) named Clyde lived here before us. He was a nice man; single, no children. He worked for the city and was well known throughout town. He died in 1998 and his niece put the house up for sale... and well, thats how we got it.
Anyway, Clyde had his routine. When we moved in the house went into shock. He didn't do a lot of updating, but everything was in great condition for being as old as it all was. That was, until we started walking in areas Clyde never walked. That is when the house went into shock. Tiles started crumbling under our feet. Seriously. Like dust. It was the strangest thing!
So somehow or another we got a hand-me-down piece of carpet that was almost big enough for the computer room. PERFECT condition. We took it and stuck it in the computer room. Didn't put it down professionally or anything, it just laid there. No staples or anything. And there it sat - until this morning.

Almost 10 years of toddlers.. preschoolers... pets... yeah, it needed to be torn out. So I did.

I am going to lay tile sometime this week. Much easier to clean than carpet.

While I'm pulling up this carpet I see something round & black on the floor. I pick it up and turn it over... "Maxwell". Max's lost tag sad.png Of course being the stupid softy that I am and I miss my Max like fricken crazy, I start bawling sitting there in the middle of the computer room floor.

Then I think to myself, "wouldn't it be funny if I found my class ring?"

    Guess what I found?

I haven't seen it in over 5 years I'm sure.

Camera Critters 10.11 - The Zoo

    Camera Critters
Another trip to the zoo this weekend. This time we went to the Minnesota Zoo. I took 157 pictures total... I don't think I'll post them all today :)

    Sorry... I like the cats!

But I did get some fun shots of the grizzlies... (I think they were my favorites)
I think this was a red panda.... a bald eagle who had a broken wing.....sea horses. They are so fun to watch. I never knew they held onto things with their tails!

    Friday Fun

    Friday Fun Linkie

    1. What is your idea of a perfect relaxing day? - A day out at the lake fishing... not one fight from the demons... the lawn already mowed and everything fixed so hubby can fish with us.
    2. Your first real boyfriend/girlfriend,… do you look back fondly or do you get the shudders? Where are they today? I can look back and smile. We had some great times. But when I think about what he's turned out to be it makes me really sad and a lot disgusted. Never in a million years would I have imagined him, of all people, to become what he is today.
    3. What was your favorite subject in school? English composition.
    4. What is your favorite show on TV? Favorite book? Favorite song? Favorite TV show? I have to pick one? Days of our Lives, I suppose. Or Little House. Favorite book? Thats easy - Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean Auel. Favorite Song? Probably Uptown Girl by Billy Joel.
    5. My husband’s only real competion is Wentworth Miller from Prison Break. Who is your celebrity crush? hysterical2.gif do I really have to answer this one? Ok, for those of you who don't know me, I'll tell you. For those of you who know me you can say it along with me - Mel Gibson. My lesbian crush is Angelina Jolie, though.
    6. Since I got my first gray hair at 16, Miss Clairol and her friends are my close, personal friends! What about you? To dye or not to dye the hair? If so, what color is your natural hair (if you remember!) and what color do you dye it? my natural color is med/dark brown. I usually highlight it with dark blonde.

    Food 4 Thoughts

Food 4 Thought Friday ~ This week's questions

    Breakfast
Would you rather be really hot or really cold? - I guess really hot? Who would want to be cold?

    Lunch
Name three things (modern conveniences) you could not live without?

    1. Indoor Plumbing. An outhouse wouldn't bother me so much. We use one when we go out to the lake in the summer... it's not that big of a deal. But I could not handle taking a bath in a big tub that had to have water boiled/warmed up... and then share the water. Nope, that I wouldn't want to to do. Send me down to the lake/river and I'd take a bath there first.
    2. Fingernail polish remover. I hate waiting for it to wear off by itself. It takes months sometimes.
    3. Peanut Butter Cups. Need I explain why?

    Dinner
If you were the eighth dwarf, what would your name be?
    - Cutey hysterical2.gif

Midnight SnackWould you rather live to be 100 and sick, or live to be 50 (dying from a freak accident) and healthy? - depends on the sick. Am I sick, miserable, needing to be taken care of? Then kill me off at 50. Am I sick, just feel like crap all the time but still have moments when I can enjoy my children, grandchildren and friends? Then bring on the germs.

Recipe for this Week (instead of your recipe for life - what is it for just this week?) - there's nothing you can't do, some things just take a little longer.

PLEASE PLAY !!!! Come on you know you want to!

    To play along go here.

Socks with colored houses, princesses and pictures

    1. How long do you keep unmatched socks before you get rid of them... and how do you dispose of these socks? Years. I'm afraid to throw them out because I know that when I do.... I'll find the other. I still have socks the girls wore in kindergarten that are still waiting for the matches.
    2. If you could paint your house ANY color you wanted and your friends, family & neighbors would love the color from the moment they saw it, what would it be? Bright yellow with pink shutters & baby blue trim... and a purple roof.
    3. Which Disney prince/princess would you want to be and why? Snow White. Live in the woods with all those animals? Heaven.
    4. What was the last thing you took a picture of? I took a picture of a picture.

    a day out with Saki

    Wordless Wednesday - 10.8

Shhh I know it's supposed to be wordless, but I just have to brag --- yesterday I put my leopard print flannel sheets on our bed for the first time! I love flannel sheets and finding leopard print was a huge bonus for me!
Fall is in the air... and I'm nice and warm at night now.

    Deer & guns & t-shirts, OH MY!

It must be the leaves falling... the red, orange & yellow all over the ground.
Maybe it's the cooler temps or maybe it's the pickup trucks with people in camo driving around.

    It's hunting season.

And I just can't seem to do any designs besides hunting lately. It's kinda sad. Anytime I open my graphics program to work I want to open up deer and gun images.

The husband is going hunting this year - it's been a few years. Someday I'll go again.... not this year though. I'll just stay home and make deer hunting tshirts.

    Camera Critters 10.4

    Camera Critters

    Our Oliver - Mr. Personality.
Who has new friends... Demon #1 got fish for her birthday last week and Oliver seems to enjoy them more than anyone in the house!

    Friday Fill-in & Food 4 Thought Friday

Trying out a new meme today :)

    fridayfillin.gif

    1. October always makes me think of orange and I'm not sure why. Pumpkins maybe?
2.You Can't scare me! (total shamless plug here -----> click )
    3. Leaves are falling all around, it's time to get my kids and the dogs out into the woods and take some pictures!
    4. My favorite horror movie is A Nightmare on Elm Street because it's the first movie I watched and wasn't scared (Psycho was the first) and now our oldest demon is named after one of the characters in the 3rd movie!
    5. Those years when I was still young enough to go TorT'ing = good memories. (this is October related afterall!)
    6. It was a dark and stormy night when my anxiety would boil over when we lived in the trailer house. Now that we have a house, doesn't bother me.
    7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to hopefully getting the demons to go to the Homecoming game (why won't they go to football games?? Thats the BEST part of school!), tomorrow my plans include sleeping in and Sunday, I want to go to church and not have demon #2 be antsy and drive me nuts!

    and..... another meme!

    Breakfast
What actor/actress would be most believeable to play you in a movie? It's not because I have this huge lesbian crush on her, either, but I'd have to say Angelina Jolie. For so many reasons. She's beautiful and would make me look better than I actually am, she has a rough exterior but you can just see the softness beneath her skin.... plus she plays a kickass mental patient so she could really do the crazy part of me in the best way.

    Lunch
If you were stranded on a lonely beach, what are the five things that you would want to survive? Ok, reading this question it could go either way... what are 5 things I want to survive? Well, one of them would be ME! I'd want me to survive... then I suppose all of the vegitation so I'd have something to eat... um... if I'm stranded by myself then nothing else would be there besides me & the vegitation.
but I know where this question was going so.... 1. a big knife 2. shelter that would withstand a hurricane 3. a good supply of some type of food.. plant life, whatever 4. a big ball of baler twine 5. my husband.
Not my kids - they would drive me to leap off a cliff or something. Just my husband.

wait... nevermind. He'd probably drive me to do the same thing. #5 is Saki. She can fight off rats and stuff for me anyway.

    Dinner
What terms of endearment does your significant other call you? What do you call them? Honey. Thats about it both ways. We NEVER call each other by our first names, though, it's funny. It's always "honey".

    Midnight Snack
If you could be a fly on the wall, where would you go and why? Mel Gibsons shower. Need I explain why?

    Recipe for this Week
(instead of your recipe for life - what is it for just this week?) Just like any other day - don't sweat the small stuff. If it won't matter in 10 years - don't worry about it.
