New Pet Bowls at the store - quick, go look!

Just a quickie note to say that we now have pet bowls available at InsanityWear.com & SledderWear.com!!!
Each of our designs is available on either the small or large pet bowl. Ok, so not all the designs "make sense" for a dog or cat... but hey, who am I to say they don't look good printed on it, right?

I'm thinking these could even be considered at water dishes for reptiles! How sweet would that be? Or rabbits... or ferrets... I guess that's why they are called "pet" bowls and not "feline" or "canine" bowls.

Of course, as always, we'll personalize for ya! You can bet that Saki & Chico will be getting their own personalized bowls! Spoiled brats that they are.

Speaking of Saki... think a quick good thought for her today. She had "the surgery" today. (she done got spayed!) I am a responsible pet owner, hear me roar! No puppies for my Saki-girl! I called the vet already (did you expect less?) and she did great... made it through surgery fine and is resting.

.... all alone in a cage by herself...

She has an e-collar on, so I bet she's just pissed off! It's one of those cone-head things so she can't bite at her stitches. You can bet there will be embarrassing pics of her on here tomorrow! I can pick her up anytime after 9am tomorrow. I can't wait!

.... because she'll be all alone in a cage all by herself all night long.....

Ok, yes, I have issues. I HATE leaving my animals overnight at a vet. The cats I won't leave. Saki I did just because of how big & hyper she is and I don't know that I can keep her quiet, calm and rested so soon after surgery. They say they keep them overnight for "observation". Tell me... who is there all night long to observe them? That's my point. Nobody is. So if she tears her stitches at 11pm tonight and is bleeding all over the place, nobody will be there to see it until 6:30tomorrow morning.

I know, I need to let this go. She'll be fine.

Right?

Anyway... go buy a pet bowl.

Life as we know it

It's been a strange, makes you think type week.

My brother's mother....I know that sounds strange.. I sorta giggle everytime I say it. He's technically my half-brother, but I tried to figure out which 1/2 was my half one time and gave up. He's my brother, the technicalities don't matter - except in times like this..... his mother passed away from a 3 year battle with cancer the other day.

Then yesterday afternoon I get a phone call from someone I barely remember. He was a roomate of some friends of ours, Chad & Jody, from years ago, back when Taryn was just a baby. He tells me that Chad died the night before, in Jody's arms. It took a moment for my mind to wrap those words together into a sentence that made sense. "How? What happened?"

They think it was a heart attack.

A heart attack? Chad is only 34 years old! He has a son not much younger than Taryn! And Jody - she doesn't know life without Chad. They've been together since she was a teenager - he was her first everything.

So I was thinking yesterday and I know this has been thought many times by many people and really, the answer doesn't matter - it doesn't change anything, but you think it just the same. Which is better or worse? A long battle, knowing the outcome and knowing it's coming... so that you can say what you have to say, do what you have to do? Or... one minute you are here, the next you are gone. I don't know the answer and I don't think there is one. All I know is that 2 families that I know are suffering right now in different ways - they both feel sadness, loneliness and heartbreak, but one... feels a sense of peace, when the other is in a whirlwind of confusion and panic.

Even though we haven't talked to Chad & Jody in years, I know that no matter what - Chad died right where he would have wanted to.

And Carol, she was surrounded by family & friends, just as she wanted. She had enormous amounts of love surrounding her up until the last moment.

It all makes you really stop and think.

Bubble Fun

I am really slacking on the whole picture taking thing, ain't I?

Mother's Day was relaxing.. went out to eat with my parents, got the girls' haircuts, stopped at a Dollar Store where they had to have bubbles (how old are they?) and who am I to resist the whining of children in a store? So we came home, the husband mowed the lawn and I watched the girls play with bubbles.

Did you know they make scented bubbles? Who the frick cares what they smell like? These particular bubbles smell like blueberry... and according to Demon #1, taste like them too.

And this is my Mother's Day present.

This is for the Weekend Snapshot meme and the Weekly Winners. I could double-post the 2 pictures I posted for Wordless Wednesday last week... but I won't. I'll just link both of them. #1 (Saki through a window) and #2 (turtles on the grass). Or you could just scroll down, it would probably be easier and less work for your mouse-clicking finger.

Just trying to make things easier for ya....

Wordless Wednesday - Version 5.7

Asking, pleading, crying out for help!

So if you are a regular reader here, you know I run 2 online stores and thats, like, my job. Sometimes that job actually takes up so much of my time that I forget about this blog! Really, it happens.

Well, now is one of those times and as I'm sitting here asking the dogs for help with ideas and where I should go now I'm realizing that they really are no help to me and I need real ideas and real help! So HELP ME! Please.

Over the next couple months I have to "break up" my InsanityWear.com store into at least one more store. I might do two more, maybe three... thats where I'm stuck. Should I open a "Quotes & Sayings" store and move all my quotes-type designs over to that, should I open a "Fishing & Rec" store and move those types of designs over.... I don't know what the best thing to do is!

Sad thing is, I have to move something to a new store, there is no way around it. Basically, InsanityWear is too big and I have to downsize it, but I'm not deleting anything, just creating a new store(s).

So... please, if you have the time or you are over there shopping & such... could you please help a girl out and give me ideas, opinions... that sort of thing?

I just am not sure the best route to take here. Sometimes I have a hard time looking at my own stores as a "shopper", so if you have any ideas...

Camera Critters, Weekly Winners & Weekend Snapshot for 5.4.

I'm hitting up all the weekend memes all at once because, once again, I didn't get my camera out this week. Yesterday the husband & I went for a walk down one of the trails near by... it's like walking through the woods! I would have had some nice deer shots, but I left my big (nice) lens at home because I figured the smaller lens would be more comfortable walking with. I don't know how many times I said "I should have brought my bigger lens".
So I'm sticking this in here for the Camera Critters, Weekly Winners & Weekend Snapshot.

Ok, I did try to take a picture of the deer... you can barely see her standing there on the edge of the trail.
If I would have had my bigger lens.....

Think Saki enjoys these walks?

If I do this on a Sunday morning, there's a good chance I can kick myself later for not waiting and I'll get some great shots today!

Don't Drink Water - Seriously... LOL

Don't Drink Water

Sometimes I make a design that makes me laugh the entire time I'm making it. My mind was so gone this morning... I wanted to do fishing designs but I just couldn't keep my mind on fishing... LOL

Sometimes I should just not create things.

Upgrades, dog toys & sick kids

Yesterday was a nice, different kind of day.... sort of. It started out by realizing it had been 100 days of not smoking, then realizing Demon #2 was still sick, then being stuck between a rock & a hard place by my brother... and that was all before 8:30am!

The rock & a hard place is somewhere where I knew we'd end up eventually. See, my brother is a computer-nerd of sorts (either that or he fakes it really well). He helps me keep InsanityCafe forums running. Without him there just wouldn't be a forums to go to.

We've been behind on updating my site and the husbands site (which, of course, Patrick helps with, too) so yesterday was the day. If it wasn't yesterday, we probably would have been looking at a November or December date. Trying to get his schedules and mine (which stupidly is not very busy) to connect has been pretty much impossible.

So a comment was mention - I looked over at the husband and within 20 minutes we were out the door. It's over an hour drive to Patrick's, so we knew it would be almost an all day thing.

But it was so fun! I have the most wonderful, comical, sarcastic, humorous, caring brother a person could have. Seriously. You just can't be in a bad mood around him - it's just not possible. The only thing that sucked is that we had to leave.

Came home to a kid that was still sick (she wasn't dying... she's just sick. She was going to sit in front of the computer/tv all day long anyway, so whats the difference if I'm there to watch her or not?), 2 hyper dogs that had obviously been neglected attention-wise all day and a sink full of dirty dishes.

Speaking of dogs... Patrick has a Goldendoodle named Coco. Cutest big lump of fur you'll ever meet. Coco has this squeaky toy... all I know is that it looks like a dinosaur and it's made in China. If you try to feel the inside, it's not hallow, it's got some sort of material in it. It look indestructible and Patrick said they've had it since Coco was a pup (almost a year).... so it survived her puppy-chewing stage. He has absolutely no idea what this thing is called or what brand it is. We stopped at Petco and couldn't find anything close to it. Does anyone have any clue what this could be? We want to buy like 15 of them for Saki, because Lord knows she chews through everything and this is the toy for her!

Send a word out to your critter-friends and help us solve the mystery!

And that, my friends, is your Monday morning ramblings. Check out the work we did at the forums... join up, come talk to us! We love new people... we hand out cookies.

Oh... demon #2 is home sick today still.
