My weekend- snowmobiling in June?

I'm doing it again this week - throwing all memes together.

We headed to South Dakota for a summer snowmobile show. Went there on Thursday... slept through down pouring thunderstorms Thursday night... spend the day Saturday fighting 30-40mph winds... but Saturday turned out great!For Camera Critters... Saki met a friend. Belle is owned by everybody... well, she actually belongs to a friend of ours, Dan, who is also into this whole vintage snowmobile thing. Belle just runs wherever she wants, but never goes too far away. She hung around with Saki most of the weekend, though. They got accused of being mother/daughter once !

Because of the rain... it was muddy... so Saki & Chico had to stay in the crate when they weren't out running around.
For PhotoHunt, which this week is hair - it seemed rather fitting on Saturday. If you didn't have a hat on... you had hair in your face. 40mph wind will do that to ya! (yes, that's me!)and my weekly winners are..... and this all goes for Wordless Wednesday & Weekend Snapshot, too!

Another Memorial Wknd....

Well, we tried. Tornado Watches brought us home again today. Crappy weather all around - hazy, cold, windy. But we tried.

Thats the nice thing about camping at the lake - we are 5 miles from home. If the weather sucks, we can go home really easy. We aren't stuck having a miserable weekend if we don't have to.

But I did remember to grab my memory stick today, so I got a few pics.

The Husband

The lake was cold... 50some degrees, but that didn't stop Demon #2 from getting wet!

Saki's first trip to the lake... luckily she doesn't quite understand that she's looking at a big giant puddle. She still has 2 days until her stitches come out, so we had to keep her as dry as possible.

Next weekend we'll let her experience the real lake adventure!Demon #1 hung out in the hammock a lot.

and lets not forget the star of the day.... Happy Birthday Chico! He spent the day with his best friend, Saki, of course!As last week, I'm throwing this up for Weekly Winners, Weekend Snapshot and Camera Critters.

This weekend pretty much revolved around Demon #2's 12th birthday....

Due to Saki's surgery, she isn't much of a photogenic canine this week, so Chico gets the limelight!

Bubble Fun

I am really slacking on the whole picture taking thing, ain't I?

Mother's Day was relaxing.. went out to eat with my parents, got the girls' haircuts, stopped at a Dollar Store where they had to have bubbles (how old are they?) and who am I to resist the whining of children in a store? So we came home, the husband mowed the lawn and I watched the girls play with bubbles.

Did you know they make scented bubbles? Who the frick cares what they smell like? These particular bubbles smell like blueberry... and according to Demon #1, taste like them too.

And this is my Mother's Day present.

Camera Critters, Weekly Winners & Weekend Snapshot for 5.4.

I'm hitting up all the weekend memes all at once because, once again, I didn't get my camera out this week. Yesterday the husband & I went for a walk down one of the trails near by... it's like walking through the woods! I would have had some nice deer shots, but I left my big (nice) lens at home because I figured the smaller lens would be more comfortable walking with. I don't know how many times I said "I should have brought my bigger lens".
So I'm sticking this in here for the Camera Critters, Weekly Winners & Weekend Snapshot.

Ok, I did try to take a picture of the deer... you can barely see her standing there on the edge of the trail.

Think Saki enjoys these walks?

If I do this on a Sunday morning, there's a good chance I can kick myself later for not waiting and I'll get some great shots today!

The girls, the dogs & I headed to the park today. It's a little piece of heaven just on the outside of town... at least I've always thought so. I came here as a child and it just seems right that I bring my own children. It helps that we live just a few blocks away from it, too. :)
It is a "regular kids park", too. If you look off in the distance you might be able to see the playground equipment.
This is the first time I've came here with a mission - pictures. The girls really didn't know that was the mission.. I mean, Mom always has her camera, so they get used to it after awhile.


And the dogs? Well, considering Saki is just about 6 months old and a retriever, she's really into the exploring & discovery of all this new stuff... grass! Sticks! Hey, where'd the snow go? She's in her own heaven.

And Chico? Well, he doesn't get off the leash much (he listens as well as the trees in the pictures), so he was having the time of his life!
